About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a strategic, global programme focused on improving the end-to-end experience of external vendors and partners, with efficient and reliable payment processes as one of its key areas.
The role requires someone who can operate effectively between strategy and execution - translating senior leadership priorities into a clear delivery plan, coordinating multiple workstreams and ensuring milestones, dependencies and risks are actively managed.
This is a high-visibility position within a large, international organisation, involving regular interaction with senior stakeholders, including VP-level leadership. The Programme Manager will work across business, finance and technology teams to maintain alignment around a single programme roadmap and ensure successful delivery.
Details:
- Engagement: B2B contract
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Long-term assignment, approx. 12 months+
- Location / working model: remote (EU)
- Language: English
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the programme end-to-end, owning the overall plan, milestones, dependencies and delivery cadence across multiple workstreams, including payments, vendor onboarding and related initiatives.
- Act as the link between strategic direction and execution, translating leadership priorities into concrete deliverables and ensuring accountability across participating teams.
- Manage senior stakeholders, including VP-level leaders, providing clear reporting, escalation and executive-level communication.
- Coordinate programme budgets and funding, track spend and support funding and prioritisation decisions.
- Partner closely with technology teams, aligning business requirements with technical delivery and ensuring organisational readiness.
- Establish and maintain strong programme governance, including governance cadence, RAID management, status reporting and cross-functional coordination.
- Drive alignment across multiple functions, teams and geographies within a complex global environment.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies and delivery blockers and ensure appropriate mitigation or escalation.
Our expectations:
- Proven experience as a Programme Manager / Senior Project Manager within large, complex and highly matrixed international organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders and executive-level leadership.
- Strong track record of connecting strategy with execution - managing an integrated programme plan, maintaining delivery momentum and resolving cross-functional dependencies.
- Experience coordinating programme budgets, funding and financial tracking.
- Strong experience working alongside technology teams on business and transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, reporting and escalation skills.
- Experience with vendor- or supplier-facing programmes is highly desirable.
- Exposure to payments, procure-to-pay (P2P), supplier management or vendor onboarding would be a strong advantage.
- Recognised project/programme management certifications or methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum) are preferred.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have:
- Experience working in large-scale global organisations with complex operating models.
- Background in enterprise transformation, operational improvement or technology-enabled change programmes.
- Experience coordinating programmes spanning business, finance, procurement and technology functions.
