Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Azure Synapse Analytics Consultant to join a long-term data and analytics project.
The role combines hands-on technical work with a strong understanding of business processes and data requirements. We are looking for someone who can not only work effectively with the Azure data stack, but also understand the functional context behind the data and translate business needs into practical analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and enhance data and analytics solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics / Databricks.
- Work with large datasets using PySpark and PySpark SQL.
- Develop and maintain data processing and transformation logic within the Azure ecosystem.
- Work with Azure Data Lake and related data storage and integration components.
- Analyse data, identify patterns, inconsistencies and data quality issues, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Understand business processes and requirements and translate them into appropriate technical and analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Proactively identify potential improvements, risks and gaps in existing data solutions.
- Ensure high quality and accuracy of delivered solutions, with strong attention to detail.
Candidate profile
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Azure Databricks.
- Very good knowledge of PySpark and PySpark SQL.
- Practical experience working with Azure Data Lake.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with complex datasets.
- Ability to understand business processes and functional requirements, not only technical specifications.
- Experience translating business requirements into data, analytics or technical solutions.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and a high level of attention to detail.
- Very good command of English, allowing effective communication in an international project environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with packaging data, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) or related sustainability / regulatory data processes.
